So here all the components are integrated on the board itself and there is no scope for adding additional components. LG Upgrades its Smartphones to Android 4.0 in 2012

LG Announces World's Largest OLED HDTV Panel

<div style="text-align: justify;">LG Electronics will showcase world’s largest Organic Light Emitting Diodes (OLED) TV panel at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2012 starting next month in Las Vegas. This largest OLED TV panel from LG is very slim and thin which measures only 5 mm thick and 55 inches wide. 100,000:1 contrast ratio, thousand times faster when compared to LCD in regard to response time and less power consumption makes this OLED, a special one. WOLED (White OLED) technology that is used in manufacturing this 55 inch TV panel results in greater productivity, higher picture clarity and lessened error rate. For the backplane, LG is using Oxide TFT technology that replaces Silicon (generally used LTPS in OLED panels of smaller size) with Oxide. <b>What is Touch Screen?</b><br />Touch-screen is an input device which allows us to operate a device by simply touching the screen. A touch screen enables us to directly interact with devices in an easy way, as it could be operated by the touch of a figure or stylus. Now a days the use of touch screen devices is rapidly increasing and they are used in devices like mobiles, computers, tablets, ATM’s, navigation systems, industrial and medical control panels.<br /><br /><b>Types of touch screens</b>:<br /><br /><b>Resistive touch screen</b>:<br />Resistive touch screen is widely used touch screens across the globe. It consists of two layers, a flexible layer and a rigid bottom layer separated by a gap with insulating dots, attached to a touch screen controller. The inner sides of the layers are coated with a thin metallic conductive material, when we press on flexible layer, the two layers will come into contact and there will be a change in voltage, then controller calculates the coordinates at which voltage change has occurred and this is how a resistive touch screen recognizes the input. Resistive touch screen gives only 75% clarity and cannot recognize multiple touches at same time but offer long durability and it is much cheaper.<br /><br /><b>Capacitive touch screen</b>:<br /><br /><i>Surface Capacitive:</i><br />It consists of a transparent conductive coated glass and at the panel edges electrodes distribute low voltage creating a uniform electric field over the screen. When we touch, our finger draws some current then controller calculates the ratio of current flow from edges and finds out the touch point. This is how surface capacitive touch screen recognizes the input.<br /><br /><i>Projected Capacitive:</i><br />It consists of three layers, top and bottom layer consists of protective glass and middle layer consist a senor grid of micro fine wires laminated. Now when we touch the screen, capacitance is formed between our finger and sensor grid, controller finds out touch point by calculating coordinates where the capacitance is formed. This is how projected capacitive touch screen recognizes the input.<br />Capacitive touch screen emits 90% of light and has long life but it can sense only finger touch, stylus can’t be sensed.<br /><br /><b>Surface acoustic wave touch screen</b>:<br />Surface acoustic wave touch screen has transmitting transducer that receives electrical signals from controller and transmits them to ultrasonic waves which are directed across the surface of screen. On the other end reflectors redirect these waves to the receiving transducer which reconverts ultra sonic waves into electrical signals and send them to the controller. When we touch the screen a portion of wave travelling across it will be absorbed by our finger. Then this change in signal is passed to controller and the controller finds out touch location. These screens are expensive and have short life but emit 100% light, so they offer good image quality.<br /><br /><b>Infrared touch screens:</b><br />Infrared touch screen consists of infrared LEDs and photo transistors on sides of the panel to create an invisible infrared light grid. Now when we touch the screen, light beam in that particular location gets interrupted and controller calculates the coordinates of point at which the interruption took place, and this is how infrared touch screen recognizes the input. This screen supports multi touch and it can take input with the tap of our finger, pen, gloved finger and stylus, there is no need to rely on a conductive material. It has a long life, resistant to moisture and also provides good image quality.

India is the second largest country in the world in terms of mobile phone users next to China and with very huge number of users there might occur, several health hazards with the radiations being emitted from these phones. As a step to take care of these health hazards, the Indian Government has instructed mobile phone manufacturers to provide health warnings and radiation tags for displaying the amount of radiation emitted from every mobile to educate the users and control health hazards. In the process the government has asked manufacturers to display the SAR (Specific Absorption Rate) value information for every handset in its manual and the manufacturer’s website. <br /><br />India’s SAR limit has been 2w/kg till date and has decided in reducing it to 1.6w/kg. Several safety precautions to the mobile users like reduce voice calls and use SMS’s, ensure that the mobile has low Specific Absorption Rate, don’t attempt to use a mobile phone when the signal quality is weak, keep mobiles 15cms away from implants for people with active medical implants and avoid direct contact of mobile with your ear instead use a Bluetooth speaker of low power. The mobile phone manufacturers were asked to even provide these precautions in the user manual of every handset.

<div style="text-align: justify;">Sony India is planning to launch two Wi-Fi enabled 3G tablets namely ‘Sony Tablet S’ and ‘Sony Tablet P’ in the mid of January, 2012</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"> </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><b>Sony Tablet S:</b></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">The tablet S from Sony features a screen size of 9.4 – inch and a screen resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. It also boasts a 5 MP rear camera, VGA front camera, RAM of 1GB, microSD card slot expandable up to 32 GB and internal memory of 16GB. A new feature called ‘throw’ helps user of the tablet to synchronize wirelessly with other compatible devices like Sony Bravia’s T.V’s, PCs etc which are DLNA compatible enabling them to play a movie or listen songs in their tablet through DLNA compatible T.V or speakers. The 5000mAh Li-ion battery provided with the tablet provides life time up to 8 hours and runs Android 2.3.2 Gingerbread operating system. The Sony S tablet comes in two models, a 16 GB Wi-Fi only model available at a price of ` 29, 990 and a 16 GB Wi-Fi + 3G model at a price of ` 33, 990.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><b>Sony Tablet P:</b></div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">The tablet P from Sony sports a folding design especially for enhanced users. It also has dual LCD touch screens with each measuring 5.5 – inch which enables users to watch video on one screen and use the other one as a virtual keyboard for either controlling the video or browsing the internet etc. The other features of the tablet include 5 MP rear camera, VGA front camera, internal memory of 4GB, microSD card slot expandable up to 32 GB, 3G, Wi-Fi connectivity. The Sony P tablet comes with a tagged price of ` 36, 990 and will be available at VAIO flagship stores, national retailers of Sony mobiles, Sony Centre and organized IT channel . </div><div style="text-align: justify;">Both the tablets are PlaySation certified and comes pre-installed with some apps like Pinball Heroes and Crash Bandicoot. Universal remote feature is also provided with these devices. </div>
