Sony India is planning to launch two Wi-Fi enabled 3G tablets namely ‘Sony Tablet S’ and ‘Sony Tablet P’ in the mid of January, 2012

Sony Tablet S:

The tablet S from Sony features a screen size of 9.4 – inch and a screen resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. It also boasts a 5 MP rear camera, VGA front camera, RAM of 1GB, microSD card slot expandable up to 32 GB and internal memory of 16GB. A new feature called ‘throw’ helps user of the tablet to synchronize wirelessly with other compatible devices like Sony Bravia’s T.V’s, PCs etc which are DLNA compatible enabling them to play a movie or listen songs in their tablet through DLNA compatible T.V or speakers. The 5000mAh Li-ion battery provided with the tablet provides life time up to 8 hours and runs Android 2.3.2 Gingerbread operating system. The Sony S tablet comes in two models, a 16 GB Wi-Fi only model available at a price of ` 29, 990 and a 16 GB Wi-Fi + 3G model at a price of ` 33, 990.

Sony Tablet P:

The tablet P from Sony sports a folding design especially for enhanced users. It also has dual LCD touch screens with each measuring 5.5 – inch which enables users to watch video on one screen and use the other one as a virtual keyboard for either controlling the video or browsing the internet etc. The other features of the tablet include 5 MP rear camera, VGA front camera, internal memory of 4GB, microSD card slot expandable up to 32 GB, 3G, Wi-Fi connectivity. The Sony P tablet comes with a tagged price of ` 36, 990 and will be available at VAIO flagship stores, national retailers of Sony mobiles, Sony Centre and organized IT channel .
Both the tablets are PlaySation certified and comes pre-installed with some apps like Pinball Heroes and Crash Bandicoot. Universal remote feature is also provided with these devices.
