Are you using Windows XP OS and do you want to create a secured folder without allowing others to view information or files present in that folder. You can think that you can simply hide the file or use a folder lock software but here I will let you know how to secure a folder without using an external software. Assume that you want to secure a folder named ‘downloads’ present in your D drive (D:\downloads). Now, to secure the folder create a new text document and type ‘ren downloads downloads.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D}’ and rename & save the file as ‘loc.bat’. A batch will be created which will encrypt the data. Now, create another text document, then type ‘ren downloads.{21EC2020-3AEA-1069-A2DD-08002B30309D} downloads’ and save it by naming as ‘key.bat’. Batch file will be created which is decryption for the encrypted file. Save these two files ‘loc.bat and key.bat’ very safely in order to open your folder which you locked at any time later.
