- Sugar Powder (3 ½ cups)
- Rice (4 cups)
- Ghee (3 ½ cups)
- Milk (1/3 cup)
- Poppy seeds (1 Tablespoon)
Step 1: Take rice, wash and soak in plenty of water.
Step 2: Repeat the process for 3 days by changing water everyday.
Step 3: Drain all the water and dry the rice for 3 to 4 hours by speading it on a clean cloth.
Step 4: After drying, grind the rice to powder and clean the powder by sieving it.
Step 5: Mix the powder in sugar and keep the mixture aside for two hours.
Step 6: Make the mixture into soft pliable dough by sprinkling drops of milk.
Step 7: Take a clean plastic sheet and sprinkle few poppy seeds on to it, then take ball sized dough and press onto sprinkled seeds on the plastic sheet.
Step 8: Now make the dough thin by rotating with the help of your hand, then take a frying pan and heat 3 to 4 tablespoons of ghee.
Step 9: Fry on low flame until the color becomes golden brown.
Step 7: Repeat the process for the entire dough by adding ghee whenever required.
Step 8: Before storing them in a refrigerator, cool them for 5 to 6 hours by keeping them aside.
Thus, Anarsa is ready to taste.
