Douglas Engelbart, one who invented computer mouse and a computer visionary, passes away at the age of 88 on Tuesday at his home in Atherton, California. It is reported that he suffered from poor health and died peacefully in his sleep.
Anyone who uses the mouse, and enjoys its benefit of it is indebted to him. Without his invention the usage of the computer could be much more complicated in the world. As a computer visionary Engelbart the inventions related to visual display systems and more particularly to device for altering the display at selected loacations.
Engelbart served U.S Navy as Electronic Radar Technician during World War ll, and he worked at Stanford Research Institute during 1960’s. It was then the interaction of the system sitting in front of the video screen of the computer made him to invent mouse.
