Ingredients Required for Prawns Vermicelli Biryani

  • Fresh Prawns (250 gms)
  • Vermicelli (250 gms)
  • Ghee (150 gms)
  • Cashew Nuts (100 gms)
  • Cloves (4 to 5 no’s)
  • Cinnamon (5 gms)
  • Cardamoms (5)
  • Chopped Spring Onions (1 Cup)
  • Onions (Large – 2 n.o’s chopped lengthwise)
  • Chopped Green Chillies (2 Teaspoons)
  • Limejuice (2 Teaspoons)
  • Coriander and mint leaves (Each 1 small bunch)
  • Thick curds (1 cup)
  • Ginger - garlic paste (2 Teaspoons)
  • Chilli and Salt powder
  • Turmeric Powder (1/2 Teaspoon)

How To Cook Vermicelli / Semiya Biryani ?


Step 1: Pour a glass of water in a pan and boil it. Then add vermicelli and cook it.
Step 2: Drain water from the pan and keep it aside.
Step 3: Now heat the ghee in a container and after heating fry the onions and cashews till it gets brown.
Step 4: ginger – garlic paste, cloves, cinnamon, spring onions, green chillies and cardamoms. Add these ingredients to the fry in the container (fry of onions and cashews) one at a time and fry for 2 minutes after each individual addition of the ingredients.
Step 5: Add raw prawns, chilli powder, turmeric powder, beaten curd to the fry and mix it well.
Step 6: Boil till the water evaporates and prawns are done.
Step 7: Now mix the vermicelli that we cooked in the beginning to the container and wait for a minute.
Step 8: Garnish it with cashew nuts, coriander leaves and chopped mint. Serve the prawn semiya biryani now.
